Trunk Liner Removal:
(this procedure was done on a 2002 A4)
Click to enlarge First, pull away the rubber surround from around the trunk. It just comes off. Remove the black plastic liner by loosening the two 10mm nuts in the spare tire well. Pull up and it will pop off. (do it in the order listed, the numbers refer to the picture.) 1. Remove the clips. Use a T27 Torx bit. There are 2 screws on each clip. 4. Remove this pin. The middle comes out and the whole thing will come out. (see picture on right) 2. Unclip the clips that hold the liner to the body. It is easier to pull back on the liner and use a flat screwdriver or a clip removal tool to pop the clips. You should not just yank at it because you may bend the liner or break the clips. 3. You'll have to push the liner into the side of the car to dislodge the liner from under this clip.
